EVEROLIMUS

Introduction to Lanolimus 0.5mg Tablet

Lanolimus 0.5mg Tablet contains Everolimus, a medicine that belongs to a group called mTOR kinase inhibitors. It works by slowing down the growth of certain abnormal cells, including cancer cells and cells involved in organ rejection.

This tablet is commonly used to treat various types of advanced cancers, such as breast cancer, renal cell carcinoma, and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours. It is also used to treat a brain condition called subependymal giant cell astrocytoma, particularly in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex. Additionally, it helps prevent organ rejection in people who have had a kidney or liver transplant by weakening the immune response.

While this medicine can be highly effective, it increases your risk of infections, both bacterial and viral. It’s important to practice good oral hygiene, avoid live vaccines, and limit exposure to sunlight, as Everolimus can make you more sensitive to UV rays. Grapefruit juice should also be avoided, as it can interfere with the drug’s activity.

Uses of Lanolimus 0.5mg Tablet

  • Advanced breast cancer
  • Advanced renal cell carcinoma

How Lanolimus 0.5mg Tablet Works

Lanolimus 0.5mg Tablet blocks a protein called mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) that helps cancer cells grow and divide. By inhibiting mTOR, this medicine slows down tumour growth and helps reduce the size of tumours. In transplant patients, it suppresses the immune system, so the body doesn’t reject the new organ.
